Re-manufactured wheelsets and bogies
All types of passenger train wheelsets and bogie overhaul services, including wheel pressing, profiling and balancing.
Re-manufactured transmissions
Mechanical or electrical transmissions are available from LH Group Services. All units are fully overhauled and tested in accordance with, or exceeding, original manufacturers specifications.
Development
LH Group Services is expert at developing and modifying existing power train equipment in order to bring it up to new maintenance standards. Our Five Star package for the NT855 engine is now fitted as standard to the majority of the UK DMU fleet.
Modifications made by LH Group Services have resulted in fewer operational failures and greatly increased vehicle efficiency. In recognition of our continued product development, in 2000 the company was awarded the coveted Queens Award for Enterprise.
Complete vehicle overhaul
In addition to supplying power train equipment LH Group Services provides complete vehicle overhaul packages for any passenger rail vehicle.
All overhaul operations are undertaken by the company without the need for external sub-contractors. Chassis, drivetrain, wheelsets and bogies, electrics, hydraulics and finished livery painting are all in-house operations.

LH Group Services is the first independent organisation, outside the old British Rail ‘umbrella’, to gain approval for Railway Wheelset Assembly. In addition, the company also complies with Railway Group Standards GM/RT 2450 (Suppliers of Safety Critical Engineered Components), is certified to British Standards BS EN ISO9002:1994 and is Link-up approved.
